necessary or conditioned?

Are we the necessary cause of the reality or have we
been conditioned, throughout history, throughout our past by the
world around us?.....

Perhaps it is a give and take. But how can you set any objective
truth if everything is a push and pull...if we are subconsciously
surrendering to our surroundings and they are in turn, doing the same?
